Recreational Vehicle Training Center, Inc. (RVTC) was established in 2006 to provide students with comprehensive training and employable skills for the RV Dealer and the RV service industry. We are a progressive vocational school that will monitor the market's needs and continually strive to meet those emerging needs. We are the only short term (10 weeks) school that offers on-site RV's for hands on learning. With the help of manufactures and our knowledgeable staff, our training program will prepare students to become Master Certified RV Technicians and take our own comprehensive RVTC certification test. Our experienced staff will teach and coordinate the program. RVTC stays in touch with the RV manufactures and RV industry to keep up to date on new information and products on the market. From time to time, selected manufacture representative may provide presentations and materials on various subjects during the 10 week course. This provides students with current product information as well as knowledge of future products and services becoming available in the RV industry. We believe our hands-on approach of learning to diagnose, take out, if necessary, repair and replace an appliance, repair plumbing, fix electrical, water heaters, etc., in an RV, is a valuable experience and provides a superior education experience. Students become excited when they reach the hands-on portion of our cirriculm. We also include shop projects from our tractor trailer load of training aids. To our knowledge, no other RV certification offers this type of training. About half of our training program consists of hands-on learning with the balance taught in the air conditioned classroom.
Admission to the school is open to all high school graduates, and those possessing a GED who have a desire to learn RV repair. The course is offered four times per year, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Please see Tuition and admission guidelines for further details.
Located in the heart of the Pinellas Sun coast on Florida's west coast in Largo, Florida, students can enjoy our beautiful beaches and cultural attractions of nearby Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater when not attending class or studying. We can refer students to extended stay motels located near the school accessible by the county bus system PSTA. A personal vehicle is not required for those students who wish to fly in and out. Students who have their own RV will also find numerous choices of RV parks nearby. Rates vary by season. We now have several rental accommodations available for students who either do not owns RVs or choose not to bring them. Our staff is happy to help with any accommodations during the course period.
Our school is located on over 1 1/2 acre and consists of the classroom with a multi-media projection screen for DVD, PowerPoint presentations, and videos for training. There is also a good old fashioned chalk board, a shop with student workspace to tear apart a brake assembly and learn how to put it back together correctly, etc. Our center also has on-site RV's for additional hands-on training which gives them actual working experience. We have plenty of room for student parking and even a picnic area to enjoy lunch, breaks & special BBQs. Most students prefer to pack their own lunch. However, Arby's and Burger King are with in walking distance of the school as is a Dunkin' Doughnuts. Our prime location will make your stay an enjoyable one with everything you could want conveniently near by. RVTC has several field trips throughout the 10 weeks. Wives and families are invited also.
Wives and families won't want to miss our "hump-day" (half way) BBQ. RVTC's treat.
Our graduate ceremony (the day following our RVTC final test) is an event to behold with an All You Can Eat celebration at a local restaurant paid for by RVTC - family and friends encouraged to be here for this proud moment.
